Meet our Governors

The following people are our School Governors:

Mr Chris Tolson- Temporary chair of Governors                                           (Newly appointed governor for 2016-2017)                                               Chris is a former deputy head teacher and worked at a school in Holmewood. He is currently head of taching and learning for Bradford Birth to 19, and has worked closely with Knowleswood for the past 12 months. Chris is also on the monitoring and resources committee.

Mrs Claire Holt: (Newly appointed governor for 2016-2017)                      Claire is a former consultant for Bradford education authority for science and now works as a freelance education consultant. Claire has worked closely with the school for the last 2 years working closely with the middle and subject leaders.

Mrs Oyetola Enwemasor : Parent Governor:                                                  Tola has two children currently attending the school. She is on the Resource Committee and Monitoring Committee, as well as monitoring the progress of Year 5 children. Tola was elected and appointed by parents and began in her role as Governor in April 2012.

Angelo Menghello:  (Newly appointed governor for 2016-2017)   Community Governor                                                                              Angelo is a project leader for the Salvation Army in Holmewood. He is a new member of the governing body from September 2016.

Tess Peart: Community Governor                                                                Tess has been a long standing valued member of the governing body, who is also part of the monitoring and resource committees. She currently works at Tong High school and has Grandchildren who attend the school.

Mrs Katherine Burgan : Community Governor :                                        Kath currently has two children in the school and lives in the Holmewood area. She was appointed and elected by the Governing body and began in her role in November 2012.

Miss Jessica Anderton : Staff Governor : Jess has worked at the school for 6 years. She is currently Key Stage 1 leader in school, along with responsibilities for Phonics and Literacy. Jess was elected and appointed by staff. She has been our staff Governor since September 2014.

Mrs Diann Irwin : Parent Governor: Diann currently has one child attending the school. Diann was elected and appointed by parents and has been in her role as our Governor since November 2012.

 

 

WHAT DO OUR SCHOOL GOVERNORS DO?

At Knowleswood Primary School, our School Governors are pro-active in developing our school, to ensure that the outcomes for ALL children is the best it can possibly be. They help drive our Vision for Knowleswood 'To ignite a spark for learning in all young minds, that inspires and creates independence for life within an environment that is safe, stable and caring for all.'

Governors at Knowleswood, help create a culture that enables pupils and staff to excel. They challenge senior leaders to ensure there is an effective deployment of staff and resources, including pupil premium, the primary PE and sports premium and SEN funding which secures excellent outcomes for pupils.

Knowleswood Governors have specific roles focused on the following key areas:
