DIVALI IN NURSERY, YEAR 3 AND YEAR 5

Year 3 and Year 5

A group of performers told all of KS2 about the celebration and traditions associated with the Sikh and Hindu festival of Diwali in a special assembly.

Then,  Years 3 and 5 then took part in workshops, dressing up as characters from the story of Rama and Sita and having their faces painted!.

In additional work, Year 5 wrote the story of Rama and Sita, made diya lamps out of clay before investigating and making symmetrical rangoli patterns in Maths.

Nursery

On the 11th November, children in Nursery learnt about the festival of Diwali. Mrs Cahill talked to them about the celebration. She showed them how to dress up in a sari and she brought traditional food. The children also made fabulous patterns in provision.
