DIVERSITY AT KNOWLESWOOD

OUR VISION FOR DIVERSITY AT KNOWLESWOOD

At Knowleswood, we ensure equality of education and opportunity for all  pupils irrespective of race, gender, disability, religion or socio-economic background. We develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the school feel proud of their identify and able to participate fully in school life. The school considers this an important aspect of school life and have a diversity leader to develop this through school. We ensure that diversity is in all aspects of the curriculum and that we address diversity within collective worship.

DIwALI COMES TO KNOWLESWOOD

This Autumn we had some special visitors come into Knowleswood to help us find out all about Diwali. Each year group focuses on different religions and cultures and Year 5 and Year 3 have been learning all about Hinduism and their religious celebrations.

The Diwali workshop involved pupils hearing the story of Princess Sita and Rama, identifying specific religious artifacts and learning about their significance, the many deities, wearing traditional religious clothing and learning all about the importance of the 'Festival of Light.' All the children had a great time!
