WELCOME TO THE YEAR FIVE HOMEPAGE

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN DOING?

As part of our "Jungle Adventures" topic, we visited Tropical World in Leeds and saw various tropical plants and animals. We have located rainforests around the world, learnt about the different layers of the rainforests and read "The Great Kapok Tree" by Lynne Cherry. We have written persuasive letters about protecting the rainforest and in response to our reading. We are also reading Michael Morpurgo's "Running Wild" and a variety of myths from the Amazon. In science, we have studied plant and animal life cycles. Our final project of this half term will be to design and make rainforest musical instruments.
